No, it has nothing to do with Pokémon or numerology. We didn’t come in 3rd place in any contest and we’re not trying to reinvent ourselves as a single-named residential complex. It’s actually much cooler, and much bigger, than that.
The Yards is part of a larger neighborhood vision, 3 Crossings. Spearheaded by Oxford Development Company, 3 Crossings is a 20-acre mixed-use reinvention of the former Strip District trucking yards. Leveraging Pittsburgh’s current revitalization, the project considers “the growth of the Strip District as the here and now phase in Pittsburgh’s amazing transformation as a place where you can live, work, and everything else.”
Providing the “live” component, The Yards is a key player in the 3 Crossing plan. Sustainably designed, amenity-packed and centrally located, The Yards will serve its residents—and the neighborhood—for years to come, offering a direct connection to the Allegheny River, not just for scenic views, but for activity and enjoyment.
As for the “everything else,” The Hub at 3 Crossings will serve as the neighborhood transit center, connecting The Strip, Downtown and Lawrenceville. The modern facility will provide access and storage for cars, bikes, electric vehicles and kayaks, as well as car share and bike rental options and 16,000 square feet of retail and restaurants.
